Final Project - all 4 compositions

Final Outcome!

So when I started out on this project I had a bazillion ideas! And now at the end....I've come to learn that the book of Revelation is one of the most visually saturated writings out there! There are so many possibilities, its insane! For this project I spent most of my time in process, trying to figure out what in the world I would paint. And of course at the end everything simplifies and my outcome is no exception. I chose to paint a representation of Revelation 19 starting in verse 11 where the heavens open up and Jesus flies in on a white horse with His army of believers behind Him. At this point the world is in shambles so thus the landscape is bare and desolate. The scene takes place on the mount of olives and the sky is red from the moon turning blood red. I am semi pleased with the outcome. And of course afterwards I thought of many ways to push it further so I plan on attacking this thing more after the semester =)

Bubbles

Welp. here is the finished painting. I added some needed elements to draw your eye around the painting. Phew.

Citymover or maybe just a water creature thing...

Alright, I adjusted the background a little bit by rotating it and added a few more highlights and shadows on the creature. The orb has turned into a glowy orb, meaning I still don't know what to do with it, but, it kind of works right now. I could probably add some floating or tethered glowy orbs in the foreground and background to make everything work better. But as of right now this is the latest version. I believe I do need some foreground elements though. Ugh. I'm having a lot of fun with this project though.

Citymover w/ lighting integration

So from the other image I edited the colors of the creature to make it fit into the picture better. I added some interesting lighting effects such as the light coming from the top and also some dust/light flares. I still haven't figured out what to do with the orb on the torso of the creature. It is suppose to hold a city but I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it work.

Environment WIP

My final project began with the idea of taking photos of campus and then turning Texas A&M into a futuristic space hub of some sort. The idea didn't really come to me until I was actually working on it, however, I soon became frustrated and 'bored'. I lost interest in my work and decided to change topics.

rendering of studio project

still much much to do!

my to do list:
-background: add haze to distant hills, add small details like distant houses, make sky more "painterly"
-house: fix materials to avoid "copy/paste" look, add details (furniture, people for scale)
-lighting: add shadows/highlights to house & environment
-foreground: add more trees/rocks to foreground hill, detail trees, add more up close trees to frame view?

Spring & Summer - progress
